The manual and some instruction videos I found did not give me the answer. If you’re coming from Lightroom, Darktable should generally be more accessable.

How can I add new folders into Darktable without messing up the existing collection, and keeping the folder hierarchy intact? Darktable has a bit of a learning curve, but in its latest update to 3.4, it’s easier to use that it ever was. So I will end up with all exisiting Holiday photos twice. But as I am writing this, it is busy importing ALL photos. I then tried to import my photos folder again, assuming that Darktable would see the difference between new and existing photos. All previously existing subfolders are now shown as subfolders of the Summer 2020, and their names are shown with a strike through font. I tried importing that, but the result was that in the Collect images module, the Holidays folder now only had the new Summer 2020 subfolder. Now there is a new subfolder (let's call is Summer 2020) in the Holidays folder. Import in Lighttable, close to what I see in FastRaw. What I see in FastRawViewer when sorting: Image viewed in FastRawViewer. I once managed to import all that photos into Darktable. Im seeing something odd and different on an image Ive imported into Darktable to edit.

Each of those subfolders contains subfolders for specific series of photos (like a subfolder per holiday).
There are subfolders for things like Family, Nature, Holidays. I have a folder which contains al my photos. Do you still have an issue on windows with say darktable 3.2.1 or current master If not - please close the issue.
This set of filtered images is known as a collection. I have used it for a while, then for a longer period I didn't. sgschwab - since your report weve had several reports where antivir interfered with darktable actions on windows, be it import or export of images. Filter the images shown in the lighttable view and filmstrip panel using image attributes. When I did bulk uploads, DT woulod become totaly unresponsive, my PC fans would increase and under task manager I could see Disk IO and high CPU agains DT but DT would either not respond to mouse clicks or respond after a very veryl long significan delay, if I tried to click or do anything I would also get "program unresponding" message on task manager at timesĪfter lots of trials and error I found that just leaving DT alone preferable the PC as well so I did all my bulk imports overnight.
As mentioned, lighttable and darkroom are the menus you will be working under most frequent. In addition, you can also import images directly from the recognized cameras by selecting the scan for devices. It is recommended that you not use this option to import a large number of images at the same time. Darktable allows you to import a single file or folder to edit. Ok, been thinking back to when I did mine and think I may have given you some wrong info, sorry I was thinking of another package, Oops! Check this option to import images in the selected folder and all subfolders.
